A Pamper From Urban Calm – Blogmas Day 17

Urban Calm is an inner city spa that offers all kinds of treatments. I have been going to Urban Calm for many years, off and on. The service is always fantastic and really reliable, which is why I keep going back.

Recently they hosted a pamper evening to showcase the variety of treatments they offer in the spa. I popped along with my mum, and some other wonderful bloggers, to see what was on offer, and chat to the staff over Mulled Wine and Mince Pies.

For those of you who haven’t been to or heard of Urban Calm before, it is located inside the Met Quarter, in Liverpool’s City Centre. They also have another salon in Aintree, Liverpool. Both salon locations offer a full variety of treatments, are open 7 days a week, and also have late night openings.

The city spa is located on the first floor of the Met Quarter, and is a 2 story salon. The feel to the spa is modern, but inviting. The entrance is all glass, and the cool colours around the spa look so chic.

The city centre spa is the one I use, and this is where the Christmas Shopping and Pamper evening was held.

The Pamper Evening

Urban Calm, Met Quarter. Liverpool salon. Christmas Evening.

I love evenings like these, as they are a great way to get to know a business, that you haven’t visited before. Plus, it’s good to get to know the staff too.

I don’t know why, but I find going to new salons quite intimidating. You’re sitting and chatting with beauticians for a while, and they’re new people to you. With massages, you’re in close proximity, and this can be nerve wracking.

I mean, you are essentially meeting someone new for the first time and just whipping your clothes off for them, albeit you’re under a lovely comfortable blanket for the massage. But you know what I mean.

The staff at Urban Calm though are so welcoming. When I returned back after a few years, for a massage, I wasn’t nervous at all. They spoke to me a little while first, and got me a drink, so I felt instantly relaxed.

Getting to know more of them on this evening too was lovely. Lyndsey, the new manager, gave me a quick massage in the massage chair, and chatted to me about joining the Urban Calm team. She said all team are lovely, and are exactly like I said, very welcoming. The massage as well was total bliss.

What I had done

So, I told you I had a massage. It focused on my neck and shoulders, my main problem areas. I made the decision that in the new year I am treating myself to a more intense massage from Urban Calm. There are 2 I have my eye on, one is the Lava Shell massage, and the other is a deep tissue massage.

On the evening I also had my nails done. They were filed and polished. I am obsessed with the colour. I wanted to choose something festive, with added sparkle, so when I spotted this green colour I was over the moon.

This is just a normal polish, not shellac, and so far it has lasted 5 days with only 2 small chips. I am really impressed.

You could also get your eyebrows threaded and shaped on the night, but I am such a wimp when it comes to threading. I can’t bare it. However, the brows that were done looked fantastic. Urban Calm offer a lot of brow treatments, including threading, and waxing and tinting also. So I think I’ll be trying out the latter two instead.

A Christmas Pop Up

During December, Urban Calm are also housing a pop up shop of Catherine Loves UK. I had a good browse of Catherine Loves on the evening and the stock is stunning. They’re stocking Tanya Bardo candles, which smell fab. They sell initial detailed jewellery and mugs, perfect for a personalised gift. As well as beautiful prints for your home. The Chanel design ones were amazing.

I loved this really festive evening, not only for the pampering, but to chat to some amazing bloggers also. It was great catching up with Emma and Pingkan, whilst getting our nails done. Then had fun with Yasmina, in the photo booth. I can never pass up a photobooth, especially when there are Christmas props involved.

All in all, this was a fabulous night. Myself and my Mum felt really pampered. Which at this time of year, when we’re all dashing round, is a real treat. It is also something that going forward in to the New Year, I will try and do more of. So the ladies at Urban Calm can expect to see me more.

Definitely check out this Inner City Spa for all the treatments they have on offer, and treat yourself for the new year. Or a loved on for Christmas. Let me know what treatments have you wanting to book in right away!

Love, Jessi

xoxo

I love Urban Calm, it’s such a lovely place and they have great treatments! Next on my list is a back/neck/shoulder massage! I really want to try one of their lunch time ones, they only take about 15-20 minutes and would be a great pick me up!

A lunch time express massage would be lovely. You’d go back to work floating on cloud nine. X
