Back To Blogging

Life Update. Back To Blogging. Wirral Blogger. Liverpool Blogger. UK Blogger. New Brighton.

Hi Everyone. Welcome Back to Jessi Lou Blog. Thank you for waiting patiently for me to relaunch my blog & actually get some posts ready to consistently share with you.

2022 was the year I thought I would do a lot of blogging. However, Mum life turned out a lot different to how I had imagined it.

I thought I’d be able to fit a lot more blogging in than I did. But my maternity leave has been spent adjusting to motherhood, trying to find balance between Mum time & Me time, along with fitting in all other aspects of life as well.

Finally though I feel ready to get back to blogging, and I’m so excited. I love sitting down to write, and I can’t wait to see what new opportunities the blog will bring. I’ve got lots of ideas for Lifestyle & Motherhood posts. I even have old travel posts that I still want to share with you all.

Life Update

For now though, let me catch you up to speed with our life. Beauden is now 1, which is crazy. It also means I am now back at work and my maternity leave has ended. That year will forever be the most precious year of my life. All those special memories made with my boy are all in my mind when I sit at my desk back at work.

Adjusting to the new working Mum life has been a strange one. I find it really odd that just as your baby starts to become your little walking, babbling sidekick, you have to send them off to be looked after by someone else. I dreaded returning to work, but now I have I realised how much I needed that bit of adult time. Time to chat about anything but weaning, nappies & sleep. Finally I get to know what the best things to watch on tele are, have a hot coffee, and eat a meal without sharing it.

Although I miss Beauden so much when I’m not with him, it makes the days and evenings with him even sweeter (if that was even possible).

Outside of work & family life I really haven’t been up to much. We’ve got over quite a few illnesses & bugs of late, so that put a hold on a lot of plans. Plus, the tiredness these last few weeks has been a lot. I’m pretty sure though that once we’re in a good daily routine my life plans will pick back up again. Hopefully with my amazing friends & blog opportunities too.

Reading

Life Update. Back To Blogging. Wirral Blogger. Liverpool Blogger. UK Blogger. Reading. Daisy Jones and The Six. Love to read. Mum Life.

I’ve finally found my mojo with reading again. Thank goodness, because my to be read pile is huge. I am trying to read at least 1 book a month; so far I am on track.

I have read Two For Joy by Zoe Sugg & Amy McCulloch. This is the second & final instalment of the Magpie Society books. I really enjoyed the first one and this one. The ending of the book was great & rounded off the story really well, even though I was sad to see the series come to an end. I hope Zoe and Amy write together again.

The book on everyone’s lips right now, and probably on everyone’s book shelves is Daisy Jones & The Six. I got it for Christmas & dived in as soon as I saw the date nearing for the release of the TV adaptation. I finished the book in just a few days. It is a really easy read, it flows and feels like you’re reading just one big article. The story is enticing, the characters are interesting & I wanted to see what all the hype was about. It didn’t blow my socks off, but I do think it’s the perfect book for kick starting your reading mojo.

I am now currently trying to complete The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman. For some reason this is taking me an age to finish. It’s one of those books that needs time committed to it because it is quite a slow burner & full of dry whit. However I loved The Thursday Murder club so I am persisting.

Watching

My favourite things that I have watched recently are Wednesday (Netflix), The Bay (ITV), Happy Valley (BBC), Ginny and Georgia (Netflix), and I’m sure so much more but off the top of my head I really can’t remember. I need to start making notes on my phone when I finish a movie or a film that I loved.

We haven’t made it to the cinema as often as we like. I have missed writing about films. In fact, in the last year I have only been to the cinema twice and that was to see Where The Crawdads Sing & Elvis. Elvis blew me away. Both movies are now available to watch on Sky movies.

I am always on the hunt for new things to watch, so please do recommend your favourite shows.

Exploring

Life Update. Back To Blogging. Wirral Blogger. Liverpool Blogger. UK Blogger. New Brighton.

At the start of the year me, Ste and Beauden went to Rhosniger in Anglesey for the day. It’s one of our favourite places & we where lucky to have got great weather for a January day. In February I went to Llandudno with my Dad & sister for the day. We walked up the Orme, along the pier, got fish and chips and spent a good hour skimming stones on the beach.

I decided then whilst sat on the seafront, enjoying a glass of wine to end the day, that I was going to visit North Wales every month of this year. Now we haven’t got much of March left so I need to be quick, but I already can’t wait to get back there. This time we’re heading to Conwy & Rhos-on-sea.

I hope you enjoyed this brief life catch up, and liked hearing what I’ve been reading, watching & exploring. I think I’ll make this a monthly feature. Thank you for sticking with me & being very patient whilst I relaunched my blog. I really am excited to see what’s in store for it for 2023.

Jessi xoxo
