This may seem a little late to post, Christmas was almost 3 weeks ago, however I’m still enjoying reading these posts, so I figured why not still share.
Over Christmas I was far too chilled out to blog, so I gave myself a little break. But once I’d opened all my gifts I did take a little time to photograph them before I packed them away.
I saw some videos and posts from people on Boxing Day, showing what they got for Christmas. That is good going. There was no chance I could of done that, as we were none stop from Christmas Eve to the 28th December. Once the 28th arrived though, I was ready to enjoy all my gifts and have a look at how lucky I am for yet another year.
Now I want to get this out there now, I’m not doing this as a brag. I absolutely love reading posts like these, and when I wrote my one last year, it went down really well. Plus, I did a poll on Instagram asking whether or not you’d like to read it, and you guys voted YES, so here we go.
This year I didn’t ask for many things specifically. The usual beauty gifts and DVD’s were asked for, and of course some new trainers, but everything else was a surprise.
I’m not going to list every single gift I got, I’ll just pick out a few that really touched and surprised me on opening them.
Getting beauty bits for Christmas are some of my favourite gifts. Especially ones that as I like to call them, are “just for best” items, or ones I wouldn’t usually buy for myself.
I was very lucky to get the Gabrielle by Chanel perfume, Chanel’s latest launch of a perfume. When this was released I was so hoping I would love it, and I did. I got some stocking filler beauty of Soap and Glory Skincare. I had heard amazing things about their face and eye masks, so I thought why not ask Santa for a couple to try out.
If you didn’t already know, I am a huge Dior lover, and I put some Dior Beauty on my list too. I was so lucky to receive the Dior Forever Foundation, and the new Pump n Volume mascara. Would you fancy seeing a review of these both on the blog? Spoiler alert – it’s going to be a pretty positive post.
I’m very lucky to have a Mum and Sister that know my style really well, often better than I know my own style sometimes.
My sister bought me the most amazing shirt from Zara, with a red velvet strip down the arms, and pearl covered cuffs, (I’ll have to shoot it for the blog, won’t I), along with the most beautiful plum coloured handbag from Topshop. I was blown away.
To use for nights out, or just on days when I feel like I need more sparkle, Mum got me a fantastically glittered purse from Lulu Guinness.
Leopard print is a massive love of mine, and my Mum got me the softest, and biggest blanket scarf in this print from Zara. I’ve worn it a few times already and I am in love with it.
Now, I’m sure you know by now that me and Ste are trainer obsessives. We love a good trainer, especially Adidas ones, and look what was under the tree for me. The pink suede Gazelles I have been lusting after for months. Stephen hit it out the park with this gift.
Lifestyle gifts are often some of my favourites. In this category I’d put books, dvd’s, photographs and household items. These are the gifts that just keep giving. I got a few DVD’s this year, Chicago & Mary Poppins. Both films that I love and haven’t seen in ages.
I love getting books, especially lifestyle and autobiography ones. I can’t wait to get stuck in to Inside Vogue by Alex Shulman, and How To Be An Overnight Success by Maria Hatzistefanis. Both the books have great covers too, so I’m sure you’ll see them sneaking in to a few of my instagram posts.
One gift I’m so excited about are the prints I got from Chelsea Prints. I have followed these guys on Instagram for a while and love what they sell. I now finally own some of their gorgeous work and can’t wait to put it up around the house.
How good are stocking fillers! I think they’re some of my favourite bits to open on Christmas. To me, stocking fillers either give you bits you always need, or they show you how well a person knows you. I love the thought of someone going round the shops and spotting something that instantly reminds them of a person.
I got a few great stocking fillers, a lot drink related. To name a few they’re, Prosecco Cocktail mixers, a few bottles of fizz, a very large Gin glass with some Gin, a super cool disco ball drinking cup. I got a new water bottle for the gym. Lots of chocolate – the essentials. And you can’t forget bits like socks, toiletries, and candles.
Ste’s Grandma & Grandad gifted us with the most thoughtful hamper. They did this for all their Grandchildren, and it was enough to make me well up. It was full of useful bits like tea & coffee, biscuits, nuts, crackers, chocolates, and the fab basket it came in.
Writing this all down makes me realise how lucky I am to have the friends and family that I have, around me. Although I love receiving gifts, who doesn’t, my favourite part of gifts is actually the giving. I love seeing someones face when they open a surprise they love. As well as, when a loved one opens a gift that they’ve wanted for ages.
I’m gutted Christmas is now over for another year, but here’s to saving up to gift my loved ones again this year.
In the comments below, let me know some of the gifts you got. Did we get any the same? What was the gift you loved opening the most?
