I have read so many wonderful Gift Guides already this year. Full of beautiful gifts and amazing offers. I wanted to put my own together, but I wanted to make it a little different. My theme for this post is Liverpool. We all know I love this city, so why not try and incorporate it in to as many posts as possible hey.
The great news for you guys is, all the items I list can be bought from outside of the city, in other main stream stores, and via the internet. I’ve listed gorgeous gifts from different kinds of stores, big names and independent names.
The Liverpool based gift guide idea came to me after visiting a few press events that showcased lovely Christmas gifts. Also, I have recently come across some wonderful local businesses that offer unique gifts and pieces. If you’re out and about shopping in the city over the next few weeks then keep an eye out for these great items.
Shopping Sorted Under One Roof
If you’ve shopped in Liverpool before then you’ll of been to the Met Quarter no doubt. A shopping mall full of high end stores. Some of their fantastic Christmas gifts come from LK Bennet, Paperchase, Smudge Boutique, Daniel Footwear and Mococo.
Jewellery lovers can be gifted with stunning items from Mococo, they stock Pandora, Thomas Sabo, Chlo Bo and their own brand jewellery.
Beauty Lovers need to go see what MAC and Illamasqua are offering for this Christmas. Mac’s 2017 Winter Collection is stunning, the highlighter set in Whisper of Gilt will be a big hit for your beauty loving friend.
Foodies, you have to check out Carluccio’s. They’re selling delicious sets, made up of Italian oils and wines. As well as their Panettonne’s and Chocolates.
M&S always offer wonderful gifts, but this year I love that they have set up a personalised station in their store. You can get T’shirts, present sacks, and baubles printed with your chosen name. I picked up a bauble from here for my friend. Priced at £9.50, it makes a wonderful keepsake gift.
You’ll have to pop to your local store to see if they’re offering this service.
You can shop personalised chocolate every year from Thorntons, but when have you ever seen personalised candy? Until the 23rd December you can shop from Katje’s Magic Candy Factory in John Lewis Liverpool. Magic Candy Factory is a brand new independent business founded by Boss Lady, Melissa Snover.
I couldn’t believe that when I was invited to the stand to try out the candy, that I would get to meet Melissa. Not only is the candy delicious, it’s suitable for Vegans, it’s gluten free, nut free and dairy free. It is completely guilt free candy.
The price is also really reasonable at £5 for pre designed bauble & plaque, and £7.50 for personalised bauble & plaque. Selfie candies are £10.
Independent Businesses You Need to Look Out For
Little Style Stories is a brand new business set up by Natalie. Nat has worked in fashion for years, being a buyer at ASOS menswear. Since having her daughter, she has wanted to keep her feet and mind in work, and especially fashion. Thus, Little Style Stories was born. You can shop direct from the site for unique baby wear you won’t find on the high street.
Jilly Bean Jewellery is another new business set up by a new mummy. I love supporting independent businesses but especially when they’re supporting women getting back in to work. Jill, the owner of Jilly Bean Jewellery, sells her designs via facebook and instagram. Her gorgeous designs of sterling silver bracelets are hand made by her and so pretty.
I have asked for one for Christmas, as a gift from my mum, and I can’t wait to start wearing it.
This Sweet Year is a business I came across on Instagram. I love instagram for this reason. They’re a Liverpool based illustration and embroidery design company. Guys, they honestly create the cutest t’shirts and jumpers. If you love Gin, Sausage Dogs, and all round quirkiness, then you need to check out their designs. All can be shopped via This Sweet Year etsy page.
Always Lovely really are the most lovely and hard working ladies. Jenny & Sophie create stunning cake toppers and banners for all occasions. I first met them a few years ago when I graduated from my PGCE and they had a photobooth set up on Graduation Day. They had the best props ever, and I am never one to pass up on a photo booth.
I’ve followed these ladies since then, I’ve ordered my sister’s Grad Day cake topper from them, and I’m already designing my 30th cake topper and photo booth in my head (but there’s plenty of time for that). If you’re looking for personalised Christmas banners, then these ladies are for you.
Experiences to relax and share together
The best thing sometimes about giving a gift, is that you can give one that you can do together with someone. I love it when a friend or family gifts me with an experience, as it makes Christmas last longer, because the unwritten rule is, it doesn’t end until the gift has been carried out. Also, it’s a chance to spend time with your favourite people.
Afternoon Tea is always a great way to treat someone, and a great way to catch up with friends, in and after this busy festive season. The Hilton in Liverpool have fantastic deals on groupon right now for their afternoon tea, and if you book now you have up to 4 months to use the voucher, so there’s plenty of time to store it away and gift it on Christmas Day.
Another perfect experience to gift someone is a Spa Day. How often do you pamper yourself in luxury surroundings, have a treatment and just switch off? We never do, do we. This is why it is the perfect gift. I recently discovered The Spa in Suites Hotel. This award winning spa are offering many packages that suit a variety of people.
When January rolls around I’m sure your family or friend would love one of these packages.
Renew Me Half Day Spa package is priced at £69pp (Monday – Friday) or £79pp for (Saturday – Sunday), perfect for the gal who has it all. This includes one of these treatments, Glow Signature Facial, Drift Massage or Twin Souls, as well as full use of the spa facilities, robe & slippers, and lunch in the spa bistro.
Restore Me Full Spa Day, includes a 55 minute signature treatment, Traditional or Hot Afternoon Tea in the Spa Bistro and full use of the spa facilities including robe, towel and flip flops. This is great for the Mum’s who’ve dashed about all over Christmas. Priced at £80 pp (Monday-Friday) or £90 pp (Saturday-Sunday).
The ‘It’s All About The Fizz’ package is priced at £30 pp (minimum of 2 ladies). When the New Year comes around you can relax with your besty whilst getting heavenly Hand and Arm Massages, File and Vinylux Polish of your choice finished off with a glass of bubbles and a Cheese or Chocolate Fondue in the Spa Bistro.
If you follow The Spa on Instagram, then you’ll be able to see more deals they have on offer and can contact them via message for more information. More information can also be found on their website, or by calling them directly, 0151 549 5400.
So, that ladies and gents is my Liverpool inspired gift guide. I hope you’ve enjoyed it, as I have loved putting it together. I realise I haven’t put any male specific gifts in here, but many of these ideas can be used as gifts for the dudes in your life.
Let me know if you like this themed idea, and if any of these gift ideas have caught your eye.
