My favourite red lipsticks for this time of year – Blogmas Day 16

Wearing a red lipstick at Christmas is the law right? Red is the colour of Christmas for me, except anything coloured in glitter. So when it comes to lipsticks for Christmas Day and celebrations, it has to be red for me.

These are some of my favourites in my collection.

The Body Shop – Havana Red Matte

This lipstick I actually got as a free gift with purchase. A while back The Body Shop were offering this if you spent over £15 in store.

This Havana Red lipstick is one of the more subtle red lips, if there is any such thing. It has orange undertones to it, so is perfect for this time of year and for Summer too. It’s still available in store, and for £8 it’s a really good quality lipstick. The longevity of wearing it is good, it will stay on for a while, but does need touching up after eating and drinking.

Dior – Red Smile

This lipstick is my favourite true red. It’s a pillar box red, and is the type of shade that everyone needs to have. I’d call it a movie star red. Dior released Red Smile as part of their Rouge Dior Lips a little while back, and as soon as I saw it, I fell in love with it.

I wanted a new red lipstick, and knew I had to go classic with Dior. They staying power of this colour is fantastic. I wear this even when eating and drinking and it doesn’t budge.

A Dior Lipstick is definitely worth investing in, they’re great make up investments. They’re worth their price tag for the staying power and pigmentation.

Chanel – Rouge Allure Velvet

I’ve had this lipstick for a few years now, but I still love it. I always get it out around this time of year as it is such a warming colour.

This shade is a warmer red, but still a very bold colour. The undertones to it are brown, which calms down the bright red tones. Chanel create great wearable lipsticks, and the longevity of this lipstick is brilliant too.

I’ve worn La Fascinante a few times for different events and parties and always get compliments on this shade.

Armani – 406 Lip Maestro

Armani Lip Maestro. Armani Lipstick. Christmas Red Lips. Beauty Blogger.

This is my darkest shade in my red collection, and the only liquid lip I’ve featured in this post. I absolutely love this shade though. This is my first and only Armani lipstick I own, but I really want to get some more.

Although this is a liquid lip, it does dry matte, and the colour stays really well and bold. The shade 406 from the Lip Maestro collection is one of the darker shades in the collection.

I call this a sassy red, and it’s perfect for an evening look, and for making a bold statement in the day. You can wear this all through Autumn and Winter as it’s such a warm colour.

So Many Shades Of Red

You can see how much these shades vary, but all work so well for this time of year. It’s amazing how many options of red lipstick you can get, but it proves there is a red for everyone.

If you haven’t got a red lipstick in your collection, I’d say get one. It’s not a shade to shy away from. It will add a touch of glamour and confidence to your look. Plus, you will look so festive at this time of year wearing it.

I think for Christmas Day this year I’ll be wearing my Dior Red. What about you? Have you thought about a Christmas Day lipstick yet?

Love, Jessi
