With Mother’s Day coming up at the end of this week I’m sure lots of you guys are still looking for gifts to spoil the Mother’s who are in your life. Whether you’re looking to spoil your Mum, Mother In Law, Nan or your beautiful friend’s who are doing amazing as Mummy’s, then I have a few great ideas for you.
How many of you in Liverpool pop in to the Metquarter luxury shopping centre? I love to head here for a nice browse of stores such as Kurt Geiger, Mac, Mococo and stop for a lovely coffee at either Caffe Dantonio or Costa. It’s a lovely environment all under one roof and pretty soon some exciting developments are being unveiled in there. I was recently invited to attend a Mother’s Day event inside the Metquarter hosted by Sasoon Salon. The event showcased how many wonderful gift ideas can be purchased there, gifts that maybe we don’t think of getting, and the best part of the event was that I got to take my mum along so she could be pampered throughout the night.
Here are some of my top picks from the evening and hopefully they’ll give you some ideas to spoil the wonderful Mums in your life.
The Metquarter has many great boutiques inside, big names of companies like LK Bennet, All Saints, Kurt Geiger and independent boutiques like Smudge Boutique and Francesca Couture. A gift voucher for one of these stores could be a perfect opportunity to go for a shopping spree and choose an outfit or classic piece for your wardrobe.
Martine Alexander, Celebrity Stylist, was on hand to offer advice and style tips throughout the evening. My mum took the opportunity to get some style advice of her own and see how for an evening out or shopping spree she could add a chic touch to her outfits.
Style tips from the evening – The jean to look out for this season is a relaxed skinny, not quite a boyfriend jean, just not a super tight leg fit. To mix it up from jeans, you could try a culotte. If you like your style relaxed but with a classic twist try the new relaxed jean, a trainer shoe and a blazer style jacket.
Make Over Time
Illamasqua offer an express make over for £10 (bargain guys). You can focus on eyes, lips, or foundation. This is a great way to get to know a product and also to add a little something to your look if you are heading out somewhere but have no time to nip home and touch up your own make up. This was both of our first times trying out Illamasqua and we loved it. The express makeover could be a good place to start on a Mother’s Day outing before a lunch or cocktails.
Bad blogger alert – My mum went and got an express massage by Urban Calm and I was chatting away and didn’t have chance to take a picture. My mums feedback from the massage was that she wants to book in for a full Back Neck and Shoulder massage as soon as possible. The ladies from Urban Calm were so lovely and knowledgeable that you felt instantly relaxed before the massages or skin treatments began. Gifting a loved one with a voucher for Urban Calm would be a fantastic idea, they are also offering packages for Mother’s Day, the “Mum and Me Time” package is £105 and lasts for 1hour 30minutes. It includes Pedicures, and a Dermalogica Facial.
Consultations & Restyles
The event was hosted in the Sassoon Salon, and the lovely staff from Sassoon were on hand to provide consultations and styling. Me and my Mum are always interested in hearing about new styles we could possibly try out on our hair. The Sassoon prices may be slightly higher than your local salons, however I heard nothing but praise from a few girls at the event who had previously had their hair done at the salon, plus if you check out their website (Link is above) then you will see they offer introductory offers.
