I am all about skincare, I love skincare as much as I love make up. I believe that if you find something that suits your skin, no matter what the price, low or high, then you should stick with it. I’m not saying never try anything else, as that would be silly because what would be the point in me recommending it to you. I just mean, have your favourites and a few others in your skincare collection. So on that note, I have to persuade you to sample, buy and love one of my firm favourites, Garnier.
Garnier are a drugstore brand, or what I call a high street beauty brand. I have used Garnier products for years, my first one was a little pot of day time moisturiser about 10 years ago. But I’ve found that over the last few years they have really stepped up their beauty game. I actually featured a Garnier product in my first ever beauty blog, so if you have followed me since the beginning (almost 2 years) then you’ll know I love it.
The first product I want to rave about is the Garnier Micellar Water. Micellar waters have really taken off over the last few years and if you’re someone who’s skin loves it, then I’m almost sure you will have more than 1 bottle of it; I currently have 3, in different sizes. The micellar water is very gentle on my skin, I can feel it hydrating my skin at the same time as it’s removing all my make up.
I love it because it removes eye make and doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. To remove my eye make up, I will soak a cotton pad with the water and rest on to my eyes for about 10 seconds, I will then gently wipe over the eyes until the cotton pads I use are clear. It really doesn’t take long to remove make up with micellar water, including lipsticks. Winner.
This product is on average around £4.99 but is more than likely on offer in a beauty store like Superdrug or Boots.
Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash
This is a big statement to make, but I think this gel face wash is my favourite skincare product. Taking off your make up has never been as easy, as it is with this product. It cuts down my routine by half, and I save on so many cotton pads. The great thing I love about this product is that you can use it on your eyes without any irritation. There is no smell or taste to this product either, so lathering it up all over your face is perfect.
I use this product in the shower sometimes, for total ease. If I have forgotten to take my make up off before I go to bed, then in the morning it is still quick, easy, and effective. The gel wash works well for dry and sensitive skin also. If you do have skin like that, then I would always aim more to gel washes than foam washes, as these can dry your skin out more and are more aimed at oily skin.
Again, you can buy this product from Superdrug at a small amount of £3.99, but they are often on offer for cheaper.
Garnier Skin Active Sheet Masks
After I have removed my make up, cleansed and toned, then I often enjoy using a face mask. I have really fallen in love with sheet masks as I find them quick, easy and far less messy. The first sheet mask I tried was actually a Garnier one, it was the Camomile Tissue Mask. However, the Moisture Bomb tissue mask is my favourite. It will feel cold on your skin when you first apply it, but I like this, it’s refreshing and gives me a wakening boost. They’re recommended to be left on for 15 minutes, but sometimes I wear them a little longer, around 20 minutes.
Once you are finished with it, simply peel it off, and either massage the excess liquid in to your skin or wipe it off with a cotton pad. I love to massage in the extra creams from the mask, and get all the help with hydration as possible. The mask is described as Super Hydrating and Revitalising, and it really is. I love applying make up after using this mask as my skin is always glowing from it.
The masks usually cost £2.99, however, just like the other products, they’re often on offer for cheaper.
Bargain, not Basic
I’ve called this post the £15 Beauty Haul, but if you spot these products on a good day then you could get them all for around £10. What a bargain. The other great thing about Garnier and these products are that they cater for different skin types. You can get products that will help sensitivity, dryness, oily skin and combination skin. Just because these products are a bargain, doesn’t mean that they’re not effective, they prove that you don’t have to break the bank to find great skincare.
I’d love to know if you’ve ever used any of these products, or any other Garnier skincare products. Let me know which ones you love, or which ones you’re going to have a go of.
