A Charlotte Tilbury Masterclass – My #GlowMo with the Unisex Healthy Glow & Instant Look Beauty Glow Palette
A few weeks back now I booked to go on a Charlotte Tilbury masterclass in John Lewis, Liverpool One. The Tilbury team here are so nice and very creative, hence the reason they hold fantastic masterclasses now and then. Each class is usually £25 to book on to, and this is fully redeemable on the night against products. I find these events a good way to learn more make up tips, get to know new launches and take a little time out with friends, prosecco and dreamy products. What is not to love.
It was to my surprise that when I arrived at this class I was asked to be the model for the evening and receive the example makeover. I was thrilled, but now I wish I had done my hair better for everyone looking at me. The dilemma!
I feel like this is a “look of love” moment, clearly can’t wait to have my makeup done.
So what does a masterclass entail? Well on arrival to the counter, on this particular evening we were greeted with a bucks fizz. Once all guests have arrived, the host; on this evening Joe and Christine, talk you through what will be happening and why. Usually the masterclasses are to promote a new product, and this time round it was the Unisex Healthy Glow tinted moisturiser. The makeup artists will create a look based around this product and once complete you can have a quick try of the product and select your items to purchase with your reserved £25.
An added touch to the masterclasses are that there is sometimes a raffle and each person attending the class is automatically entered. The prizes are full sized products and you choose a prize before you leave. Everyone is a winner. I pulled out the Vintage Vamp eye shadow palette and was completely beside myself as I adore this palette and my old one of this is running out.
Like I said, we came along to hear about the new tinted moisturiser. This can be used by men and women to give an all year round sun kissed look to your skin. Charlotte is all about bringing that natural glow to your skin through her products. For us in the UK this is a bit of a blessing as we desperately need help with this (there’s a lack of sunshine here guys). The Unisex Healthy Glow is a tinted moisturiser, and also acts as a primer for under your foundation to create a healthy dewy look.
You apply the product as you would a normal cream, all over your face and neck. The product will begin to warm to the colours of your skin tone to create a natural looking tan, as the tan pigments in the cream react to your skin once blended in. You can wear this product on it’s own also, as on those relaxed no make up days you may still want a little warmth to your complexion.
The Products Used
So to create the glowing look, Charlotte Tilbury has put together a few Glow Collection sets, the one used on the night was called the Beauty Glow Filter Kit. From outside the kit Joe started off by applying the Magic Cream to freshly cleansed skin; this is one of my most favourite moisturisers ever. After this the Unisex Healthy Glow was applied, you could start to see a tint to my skin and a more even skintone. The magic cream underneath was also giving off natural highlights through the tint. Joe then applied a small amount of Wonder Glow Primer, went over my under eye area with the Retoucher concealer, and applied the magic foundation. Already you can see and tell how nice the Unisex Healthy Glow appears on your skin as the tan pigment was showing through the foundation.
To add bronze, blush and highlight to my make up, Joe used the Instant Look Beauty Glow palette. This is such a handy product if you are travelling somewhere, and want to pack light make up. The set includes eye shadows, bronzer, blush and highlight, what is not to love about this product. I picked this palette up and I am yet to test it out myself, I hope I get as good results as Joe did with it.
My eyes were finished off with Full Flat Lashes mascara and Rock N Kohl eyeliner in Bedroom Black on my water lines. But, no make up look would be complete without a lip, and the classic Tilbury Pillow Talk Liner and Lipstick were applied, with the Ibiza Nights lip lustre gloss over the top.
The Finished Look
I absolutely love this finished look, it is natural enough to wear of a day time, but the added gloss and eyeliner transition it to an evening look.On this evening I was heading out so it was perfect preparation for that. I find that Charlotte Tilbury make up has the staying power you want it to have, my look stayed in place all night, and after the gloss has faded I only touched up my lips once. The makeup felt light it felt on my skin, I think this is because not as much foundation needed to be applied, due to the warmth from the Unisex Healthy Glow coming through.
New launches to look out for
I am heading to another masterclass in a few weeks time, this is for the launch of the new Hollywood collection. The evening is focusing on the new contour products and the new liquid lipsticks, which I am dying to get my hands on. If you are looking to invest in some more Tilbury products, or want to purchase your first one, then definitely keep an eye out for the masterclasses at the beauty counter in Liverpool, or in a city by you. I’d recommend heading to the counter, chatting to one of the artists and finding out a social media account to follow that will promote the classes.
Do let me know what you think of this finished look. What is your favourite CT product? I have a bit of a collection of hers now, so any questions please do ask me. Massive thanks to Danielle also for these fantastic pictures.
