All That Jazz – The nail varnish brand you need to know about!

All That Jazz, although a very catchy song from Chicago the Musical, is a nail varnish brand that you need to know about. If you’re a fan of a manicure, then I can guarantee you’ve heard of their mother brand, Nail Harmony UK. Nail Harmony are the brand behind Gelish launching in the UK.

The owners behind Nail Harmony, Jason and Georgie Smedley, saw a gap in the market for them to launch high quality lacquers and a manicure range. Through this great idea, Georgie, along with her daughter Jazz, have created All That Jazz, and it launched in 2013.

I can’t believe I’m only just discovering these guys now. I am a nail varnish lover, so I’m always on the look out for new shades and brands.

All That Jazz started with 36 cores shades. From there they launched new shades in themed collections. Each year they launch 4 seasonal collections. These are perfect for nail technicians, and nail varnish lovers, all over the country.

This years latest launch is the Caribbean Collection.

I used Don’t Be A Jerky as my main shade, and used the bold, stand out colour of Patty Cake on my ring finger. I’m obsessed with that blue shade!

Summer Vibes

Nothing screams Summer to me more than imagining palm trees, turquoise waters and white sand. I pretty much described the Caribbean. This is why this collection is so perfect. With vibrant colours, in 4 different shades, with super cool names, you’ll have major summer vibes.

When I first saw the collection it was the names that caught my attention the most. They’re really cool and well thought out. The four shades are Don’t Be A Jerky, Jamaican Me Crazy, Patty Cake and Caribbean Queen.

These colours are so pigmented that when painted on they match the exact colour in the bottle and packaging.

The names created an instant love for me, as I have been to Jamaica. We spent our honeymoon there, so this is a lovely reminder of that. The 2 shades named after Jamaica, Don’t Be A Jerky and Jamaican Me Crazy, represent the country so well.

They’re vibrant, and totally capture the amazing pink sunsets you can get in the Caribbean. They’re a site to be seen, trust me!

Wearability

So now on to the important part. The wear-ability. I am a nail varnish hoarder. There must be over 30 bottles in my collection. Sadly not all of them are of a good standard, but I loved the colours. I’ll paint my nails and they’ll be chipped after a day. Not to mention that I had to sit still for 3 hours in the fear of not smudging the colour.

I had high hopes for All That Jazz, seeing as their a baby sister of Gellish (shellac style manicures). The colours looked fantastic, and because of loving the theme I had my fingers crossed!

My hopes were not shattered, they were fulfilled. These are the fastest drying nail varnishes I have ever come across.

By the time I have finished painting one hand, they’re bone dry and ready for another coat. The colours glide on effortlessly and don’t leave any streaks or overlaps.

Don’t Be Jerky, as a more subtle pink colour makes a great all round shade. The purple shade, Caribbean Queen, took me 3 coats (compared to 2) to get the colour, but once complete is lovely. My favourite 2 shades though, which surprised me, are Jamaican Me Crazy and Patty Cake.

Each bottle is priced at £9.98. The Caribbean Collection is £29.98 for 4 shades!

They’re a bold blue, and a fluorescent pink. I think because these shades are so bold they’ll look amazing on anyone. The colours will look brilliant against any skin tone. Right now I’m not that tanned (our UK summer hasn’t quite kicked in), but they give my skin tone a tanned effect. Thank you colour geniuses!

In terms of durability, I’ve worn these a few times now, and I’m impressed. The first time I wore them was without a top coat. Although they lasted longer than most varnishes without chipping and smudging, I’m glad I wore a top coat the next time.

With a top coat you’re looking at a good 4 days without any chipping. WOW! 4 days with no chipping is like a lifetime for me in varnish terms. Right now the top coat I am using is a Barry M one. It is good, however I bet the All That Jazz top coat is amazing. You could probably get up to 6 days, no chipping, with that. I have my eye on that product!

I love the striking colours against my dark hair.

Now I know that the quality of these polishes are amazing, I will be visiting their website more often. They have over 100 colours on sale, including metallics, and glitters. There are specific nail care polishes, such as base coats, matte top coats, and top coats perfect for glitter lacquers.

All That Jazz also stock lotions and creams to keep our hands looking as good as our nails. The Hand & Foot Scrub in Apple Cucumber sounds so refreshing. I can only imagine how good that smells.

These polishes will be my go-to for summer. They’ll be on my hands and feet, and packed in to my suitcase ready for top ups. I can’t wait to wear the bright colours of Jamaican Me Crazy and Patty Cake in Greece.

I’ll be bringing a special slice of the Caribbean with me wherever I go.

It’s definitely time to get Jazzy!

I’d love to know if you have heard of this brand before, or Nail Harmony. Do you think you’d like to give them a go? If you’re after a high quality, fast drying polish, then it has to be a yes!

Yes! These are my favourite kind of shades for Spring/Summer. I always end up with a little smile when I look down and see brightly coloured nails typing away at my keyboard or holding a cocktail in the sun! Loving the sound of their durability too!
