But first, Coffee!

Hey Guys,

So like many people across the entire world I am among the ones who like to start my day with a coffee. Not a fancy coffee, just a standard instant (Douwe Egberts, preferably) coffee. In a lovely mug, with a bit of milk, no sugar and I’m good to go.

This has only been happening for the last two years when I acquired the taste for it. I actually never used to drink any hot drinks at all. I’m still not a tea drinker, sorry tea lovers. But I have expanded to Hot Choccy, Fruit teas, and COFFEE!!

So naturally, one of my favourite pastimes is now to go out for coffee and cake. I love it as I actually don’t mind going for coffee on my own, it’s super relaxing. Plus, it’s also a great way to meet up and catch up with friends, or have a little date.

I’ve found SO many lovely places to go to over Liverpool and the Wirral so I thought I would share a few of my current faves.

Rose Tree Tea Rooms

A new one I visited recently that I have not been to before is the Rose Tree Tea Rooms in Burscough. So this is actually further away from Liverpool, but it is on the way to my In-Law’s house so we occasionally stop off in Burscough Wharf.

This is a super cute, vintage themed tea rooms, that is based in a cobbled courtyard. It has indoor and outdoor seating, and it is amazing value for money.

You can eat here too and the portions are fantastic. Even though it’s super girly, Ste actually loved it here for the door stop size bacon and sausage butty!

I completely fell in LOVE with the candy striped mugs here. I ordered one of the specific coffee’s that come in them, basically any other coffee than a Latte. Tastes amazing, looks amazing, super cute setting, I’m Sold on this place and can’t wait to go back.

Blooming Skull Coffee

This is a brand new coffee shop that has just opened in the Bebington/Port Sunlight area of the Wirral. It’s not far from where I work, so it’s quickly become one of my favourite places to go.

This place reminds me of a coffee shop you’d find on Bold St or Duke St in town, as it’s very cool and quirky. The food options are great, it’s a variation of veggie, vegan & gluten free dishes. There is a great variety of drinks on offer too.

I love that the decor is all white and wooden, it’s so fresh looking. I’ve noticed a lot of men hanging out in there too, I think this is great as a lot of other local coffee shops are girly-vintage-tea room style. Blooming Skull has slotted nicely in to the gap in the market for coffee shop chills in this area.

Cow and Co Cafe

I started my Saturday morning off here at the weekend, and it was the perfect place to relax quietly with a delicious coffee.

This place is tucked away on Cleveland Square in the city centre. It’s on the cobbled street that looks over towards Jamaica St. I’ve wanted to come here for ages, as it always looks so nice, and it really was.

It was busier than I imagined for a small coffee shop, but I could see why after I’d finished my delicious latte and croissant. Seeing as it was a small space and getting busier, I was not made to feel rushed or vacate my table. Great service & great coffee here.

Moose Coffee

If you haven’t been to Moose before, then where have you been? It’s only one of the most delicious places to eat! It specialises in Canadian/American Style food, right down to the super generous portion sizes.

But not only that, the coffee’s are amazing too, the Moose Macchiato is my favourite. I will either get coffee and cake from here, or a coffee and the New Hampshire Moose; Eggs Benedict served with smoked salmon, it’s just so good!

If you  have a sweeter tooth though, you must try the waffles or panckaes with nutella and maple syrup. Be warned though, the pancakes are spectacularly huge. For someone like me, they’re a sharer portion!

The whole menu from here is actually delicious. We also enjoy visiting the one in Crosby, we’ve been here for birthdays and recently our anniversary.

The one in town is handy for a nice early morning coffee (Dale St & Hope St), if you can get in without queuing (it’s a popular spot).

Wow Bar – Beauty Bazaar

If you want somewhere fancier to sit, that’s also quieter than the busy streets of town, then here is your spot. The Wow Bar now serves a delicious cream tea for 2, and you can upgrade it by adding a glass of Fizz.

This is a lovely thing to do with the girls as you can have a mooch around the fabulous shop before you settle down in the glistening bar upstairs. My sister even says that the Wow Bar serves her favourite Latte ever.

If you’re a Gold Member on the Harvey Nichols loyalty app then you can get free coffee’s from here. It’s the perfect treat for me when I am out in town for the day.

Let me know if you visit any of these and enjoy them, also now you know I’m a lover for coffee shops, please recommend some more to me!

Love,

Jess xoxo
