Finding My Own Style And Finally Being Comfortable With It.

I think only with age comes knowing your style. Over the years I have tried many different trends and styles. When I was younger I remember my Mum saying to me that all trends come back around. I never really believed this, until now.

I’m seeing so many trends and styles in stores now, that I wore in the nineties and early noughties. Some of these trends I’m not proud of. I’m talking full Ellesse tracksuits, mid-rif tops and chokers. Ok, so the chokers aren’t so bad, but you’d never catch me flashing my stomach to the world now.

Over the last few years I think I have really found the style I am comfortable with. I know what suits me, I know instantly if I see something how I’ll wear it. Even my close loved ones can buy me things and I will love them.

Once you have found what suits you, it makes life so much easier. My wardrobe is now full with clothes, that even if I feel like I’m having a down day, I know I’ll still be happy with my clothing choices.

I’m 100% a jeans wearing gal. I love jeans and a t’shirt, or jeans and a jumper. I’m most comfortable in a laid back look. Pairing jeans with trainers is my go-to. It’s a classic style, but by pairing them with a nice coat, and handbag, can smarten up the look.

In December I attended the blogger event CarnLIVal, and if you remember reading my post about it, you’ll know that some brilliant brands get involved with it also. I’ve got beauty posts to share about the epic items from the goodie bag. But, one item I had to share and use instantly was the amazing Yoshi bag I received.

Yoshi are a British leather handbag and accessory designer. They have over 50 years experience in the design and manufacturing industry, and all their bags are handmade.

The unique style of their bags stand out from the crowd. You can see the style of hand-stitched design from my bag.

My bag is from the 2017 Winter Collection. On one side is the sweetest Christmas scene, and on the other is plain brown leather, with a stand alone old fashioned lamppost. It kind of reminds me of The Chronicles of Narnia.

I love the style of this bag, it’s 2 designs in one. The bag was perfect for my winter break in London. It’s stylish, classic, and large enough to fit my camera, purse, phone and a lipsticks in.

The shoulder straps are longer than usual, so it is very comfortable to wear. It is a style of bag that I loved in my early teens. I told you all trends come back around.

Handbags were something I fell in love with pretty quickly. My Nana bought me a bag once, that was pink leather, and had a flowery meadow scene stitched on to the front of it. I got to the age where this bag was “not cool” to wear any more. Oh, how I regret that now.

But, low and behold, now I’m comfortable in my style choices, I am back loving any bag that catches my eye, and that I love.

A style tip when wearing a laid back daytime look, would be to wear it with a standout handbag. If you’re dressing like me here, in neutral colours, black, white and grey, then make the look pop with the bag. This bag stands out from my look, but at the same time, compliments it.

Even though it is from the winter collection, I am still using it now with the brown side showing. It’s just the perfect sized bag for during the week, when I throw everything in to it that I might need, including a book/magazine and umbrella (obviously).

I’d love to know what you think of this look, and the bag. What is your go-to style? Are you a jeans girl? Or a dresses gal?

I absolutely love that handbag – it’s beautiful. And your style is just so effortless and cool. I must admit that since having a baby I’m refiguring out my style and sometimes feel a bit lost, but having a few staple pieces in cuts and styles that make you feel good always helps.

Beautiful as always! I always envy your style, you look so put together and stylish! I feel like I stick too closely to what I’m comfortable with but not always suits me, so I need to branch out again with my wardrobe.
