If you follow me on Instagram (if you don’t then here I am, come join me), and watch my Insta Stories then you’ll know that I was lucky enough to be sent some gorgeous Pixi Beauty products. I was sent a selection of skincare essentials and some summer beauty essentials. So because I am so impressed with each product I have decided to split my Pixi love in to a couple of posts.
This post will look at how the Pixi Beauty skincare products have slipped their way in to my skincare routine because I have found them to be brilliant. I was over the moon when these beautiful products arrived at my home. I had the excitement of a kid at Christmas, as it was my first piece of Blogger Mail.
If you don’t know about Pixi then let me tell you a little bit about the brand. Pixi Beauty was started by Petra Strand 10 years ago. The flagship store opened in Soho in London, and the brand has gone from strength to strength. It is now sold across the UK and US. Petra has over 20 years experience within the beauty industry, from being a make up artist and product developer. Pixi is all about enhancing natural beauty and creating flawless looks in just a few minutes.
Pixi was created by a busy woman, for busy women.
The Glow Tonic
This tonic lotion is designed to gently exfoliate the skin, minimise the appearance of pores and to reveal healthier looking skin. One of the main ingredients in the Glow Tonic is Glycolic Acid. Now don’t be put off by the word acid, as this is a type of acidic formula that works very well on all different skin types.
The right amount to have in a product that contains it, is between 5-8%, and the Glow Tonic contains 5%.
The acid is what gives the skin a gentle exfoliation, which is especially good for dry skin. If the skin on your face is dry then it can build up and create a dull complexion. By using the Glow Tonic it will break down the old skin cells to reveal an illuminated complexion.
I use this as a toner, after cleansing my face of a morning. I cover a cotton pad with the tonic and wipe it over my face in upwards motions.
If your skin is quite dry then you will feel a slight tingle from it, however it does not burn/hurt in anyway.
The more you use this product the less you will feel the tingles, as your skin is starting to benefit from the exfoliation and becoming more smooth.
Glow Tonic 100ml & Lip Lift Max (Shade – Petal Ice).
Lip Lift Max
The Lip Lift Max is a product that I haven’t tried anything like before. I remember years ago there was lip plumping glosses from Natural Collection & Soap and Glory, but I was a total wimp and never used them.
I was scared in case they reacted badly on me and would give me a trout pout. Reassuringly, from reading reviews of this product before trying it, they said how lovely and nourishing the gloss was.
So the idea behind the gloss is that it nourishes and enhances your lips. When using this I would say it is definitely nourishing, and it does tingle when you first apply it as there is a cooling sensation to your lips from the Menthol in the ingredients.
I’m not sure it exactly plumps the lips, it doesn’t really do it for me, so to get the added benefits from the gloss I apply it whilst I am applying my make up to give it chance to nourish and hydrate my lips, I then dab it off, it leaves my lips feeling smooth and fresh and then I apply my chosen lipstick for the day.
Rose Oil Blend – Nourishing Facial Oil
I am a new serum user. I have only been using them for about 8 months as a part of my skincare routine. They have suited my skin very well, so I was excited to see an oil type serum in the package.
This facial oil is designed to restore and renew your skins luminosity. It is also brilliant for sensitive skin as I found it very soothing.
I find this product best to use of an evening, however it does advise to use both AM and PM.
As it is an oil based product I find it takes longer to settle on the skin (similar to the Argan 5 facial oil), which is why I enjoy using it during the evenings. I use 2 pea sized drops and massage them in to my face and neck, I then leave it around 10 minutes for the majority to soak in before applying a moisturiser and eye cream.
When you massage it in to your skin you will really enjoy the soothing aspect of all the botanical oils that are used in the ingredients.
This product is also great for using if you’re having a no make up day. Use it in your morning routine, and apply a light moisturiser over the top. Your skin will honestly stay glowing and youthful looking for hours.
The Rose Blend Oil has quickly become one of my favourite products in my skincare collection.
Flawless Beauty Primer
First and foremost, you NEED this primer in your life. And end of review.
I’m joking, obviously. But yes, this primer is very good. I already have the Flawless and Poreless Primer from Pixi and I adore this one as well, this one really does give you an even looking complexion and minimizes my pores a lot, but the Flawless Beauty Primer is so illuminating that it gives you an all day glow.
You apply this primer like you would moisturiser, all over your face, then follow with your favourite foundation. You will see the glow and shimmer from this primer shine through your foundation. It will leave you with an illuminated look all day. I tend to use this primer if I am heading out to an event or party. It’s very long lasting and gives off a more glam look to my make up.
However, I have also found this lovely to wear on a no-make-up-day. Simply apply it over your skincare routine and you are good to go.
“This product is my holy grail! It hydrates my skin, gives me a radiant glow all day, plus makes my makeup stay put.” -Petra
I have been so impressed with Pixi and I can’t wait to share the summer essentials with you.
The products have many added benefits to them also. None are tested on animals and they contain lots of natural based ingredients. I do believe this is why each product is very kind to your skin and works wonderfully.
I’d love to know if you have used any of these products. Or are tempted to purchase any? If you do have any more questions, please comment below or tweet me!
Hope you enjoyed reading guys & Happy Skincare!
