Products I use to create my Party Look – Blogmas Day 20

As much as I love getting my make up done for going out, sometimes I just don’t have the time or the funds to book in. I’ve got loads of make up at home though, so I really do try and experiment more with different looks. Especially when it comes to going-out-out make up.

I thought I would share with you my top products that I use within my party make up routine, that add some colour and sparkle. So here is the look and I’ll break it down.

For the base look

I prepped my skin with the Pixi Rose Facial Oil, followed by my Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. These products create a glowing look to your skin, as well as hydrating it so well. Throughout the winter I suffer with really dry skin. I think it’s the change in temperatures from a freezing outdoors, to being really warm inside. So prepping my skin well, helps to combat this and to keep my foundation from flaking.

For a primer I actually mixed 2 products together, the Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer, and my Le Blanc De Chanel. I am a primer fan as I think it works well with my skin type, it adds extra dewiness.

Seeing as I have ran out of my favourite just-for-best-foundation, my Diorskin Forever, I have been using my Body Shop Fresh Nude foundation. It gives a medium coverage, a dewy finish when applied with my Nanshy stippling brush, and is a lovely warm shade.

To set my make up I use the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish, got to keep everything in place even when dancing all night. My bronzer is one that I shied away from buying for a while. It’s the Soleil Tan De Chanel I wasn’t sure how the consistency would be when applying. But despite it looking like a cream bronzer, it does actually apply like a powder bronzer. I love this product and would highly recommend.

My highlight is from one of MAC’s holiday collection sets. It’s the Whisper of Gilt highlighter powder, in the Snow Ball Face bag. This is the first time I have used this product since I bought it, and I’m loving it. It’s a build-able highlighter, so even if you think you’ve put too much on your brush, you won’t of. The pigmentation is brilliant, and it lasts on the cheekbones all evening.

Add Colour to Eyes and Lips

To make my eyes stand out more I love to use eyeliner. I often draw on with kohl pencil first, and blend this in a little to my eyeshadow. Once my eyeshadow is done, I’ll then go over the faint line of liner with a liquid liner. My favourite to use when I’m going out is my Diorshow Liquid Liner.

For eyeshadow, the palette¬† I am obsessing over right now, and using for every occasion is the Pixi Beauty Palette Cholette. Pixi collaborated on this palette with Judy from It’s Judy Time blog. The colours are beautiful, and all go really well together to create different looks. I used a mixture of the gold and auburn shades, with a dab of the midnight blue.

To highlight the inner corners of my eye I use one of my favourite Illamasqua products, the gold eyeshadow in Maiden. I love using this to brighten and glam up a look. It’s the easiest product to use, just dab it on your fingers and go.

For my lips, I love a bold colour for a night out, and I like to use a product that I know will last without needing too many touch ups. This is why I love using my Charlotte Tilbury Show Girl lip colour. This product applies really well, is a great colour for the evening and also lasts a long while without needing to be reapplied.

So there you have it, my favourite products that I love to use when creating an evening look. I think as long as you have a good base, great eyeshadow and a striking lip then you’ll look fabulous. What do you think of the look? Do you use any of these products too?

Love, Jessi
