It dawned on me the other day that staying in hotels is one of my favourite things to do. I love them because they always make me feel relaxed.
They’re great on an abroad holiday, even though Air BnB is becoming so popular, but I especially love them on UK Staycation’s.
Even just having one night away in a hotel makes me feel like I have been on a mini holiday.
Myself and the husband, Ste, went for a one night staycation to the Jurys Inn Hotel. It’s located on the famous Royal Albert Dock. I have passed this hotel hundreds of times as it’s prime location is directly opposite Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena. I was pleasantly surprised as to what was behind the busy restaurant windows I always see.
Inside the Jurys Inn Liverpool
Jurys Inn Liverpool has just undergone a £3.7 Million refurbishment. All rooms and public areas have been revamped with a modern and cosy feel.
This chain of hotels across the UK, Ireland and Czech Republic pride themselves on being friendly, welcoming and going the extra mile to make your stay even better.
I know a lot of hotels say this, but how many live up to it?
Let me tell you that this Jurys Inn certainly did. The staff were instantly welcoming on our arrival. They were attentive throughout all of our stay, at our evening meal and breakfast.
The hotel felt like a home away from home, and this was even before we had spent much time in our beautiful room.
The reason I was invited to stay at the Jurys Inn was to try out the brand new Happiness Menu. This is being trialled in the Liverpool hotel. Yet another way that this hotel goes above & beyond to create an even better stay.
After all, their tagline is Stay Happy.
The Happiness Menu has been created off the back of a nationwide study to discover what makes hotel guests happy.
When you arrive at a Jurys Inn hotel you’ll find the Happiness Menu in your room. Each guest can choose one of the complimentary options to experience.
Currently these are –
- A Ray Of Sunshine – Borrow a light therapy lamp from reception to brighten your mood.
- A Relaxing Soak – Relax and unwind with available bath kits.
- A Revitalising Spritz – A spritz of lemon, apple & bergamot will be around your room & you can take a travel sized spray home.
- All Important Me Time – Ask the Happiness Concierge for the Me Time kit & indulge in some pampering. Hello Face-masks.
- A Moment of Silence – A great one for travelling with kids. Request the activity packs to keep them entertained.
- A Feel Good Tipple – Grab a complimentary bottle of water to keep you feeling hydrated and good.
- A Cheery Tune – If you have Spotify, check out the Jurys Inn Stay Happy Playlist.
- The Most Important Meal of The Day – End your stay & start your day with a delicious full English breakfast. You can even get this as room service (for a small fee).
All Happiness Menu items are limited to one per room & subject to availability.
Our Time To Relax
I knew right away that I wanted to get my PJ’s on, relax on the king-size DREAM bed with a hot chocolate and do a face mask. This really was the ultimate relaxing way to end my day, and to enjoy the room.
We stayed in room 645 and it had the greatest view. We looked over the Albert Dock, Liverpool Wheel and River Mersey. If you can, I’d say to request this room on booking. It’s one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in.
The room was flooded with light, and smelt amazing with the room spray. Hotel beds always look inviting and this one didn’t disappoint. If I could stay again, this would be the perfect room to spend all evening in. I’d order room service, people watch and then see the sun set over the Mersey.
Stay Happy – We Sure Did
I really can’t wait to return to a Jurys Inn hotel. They have over 40 under the Jurys Inn & Leonardo Brand name across the UK and Ireland.
To win prestigious hotel awards year on year each hotel including Liverpool’s must offer a brilliant stay. I hope to see the Happiness Menu spread across all hotels, as it is a great asset to have.
If you’re heading to Liverpool soon then definitely consider the Jurys Inn for your stay. It’s a step away from some of the best sights of the city.
You can’t go wrong here with a delicious bar & restaurant on site, coolly named Oddsocks, and all day Costa Coffee bar. Plus an “Off The Shelf” shopping area for forgotten travel essentials, 310 luxury rooms all with the exclusive DREAM bed for extra comfort and super fast Wi-fi.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we arrived happy but left happier.
Hope you enjoyed reading this, and if you’ve stayed at a Jurys Inn let me know how your stay was. Do you love the sound of the Happiness Menu?
*This was a paid for experience with Jurys Inn hotels. All opinions are honest and my own. We had a truly great stay. Thanks to Jurys Inn Liverpool. All images are my own.
