Cocktails at Christmas
Having a cocktail at any time of the year is great, but for me they’re even more special at Christmas. I love seeing how people at home, or in bars, come up with Christmas flavours.
Over Christmas I’ll hopefully be having a few friends over to my house for some festive fun, so I needed to start thinking of some fun drinks to offer out.
Lambrini – A Liverpool Classic
Lambrini are a Liverpool drinks company that turned 25 this year. They got in touch to see if I’d like to create some cocktails using their signature drinks. Lambrini are such a household name. I think my first alcoholic drink was a sip of their Lambrini Original.
On their website they have some ideas of delicious looking and sounding cocktails. They use the classic Lambrini drinks of Original, Skinny, Strawberry & Cherry to create them.
It was the drinks with Cherry in that caught my eye.
I decided to make my own version of the Cherry Royale. I am a Prosecco lover, so as soon as I saw it contains this, it had to be the one to make.
Jessi’s Festive Cherry Royale
If you want to create my twist on the Cherry Royale then here it is.
You’ll need –
Grab Prosecco glasses and fill 2 thirds of the glass with Cherry Lambrini. Then top up the glass with Prosecco. Depending on how much of the cherry flavour you want to come through you could change these measurements around.
We tried it out both ways. The more Lambrini Cherry added, the more it was like a non-alcoholic cocktail. Very tasty, and could be lethal as it’s just like juice.
When there is more Prosecco added it gives it that extra fizz, and this one seemed more like a cocktail to me.
I decorated the drinks with Christmas candy canes. When you go to sip your drink you get the smell of the mint from the candy cane, and also a little added taste from where it has sat on the edge of your glass. If you want more of a sweet mint flavour to your drink, pop the candy cane inside the glass.
Get Making but Stay Responsible
This is a really unique, sweet, sparkling & fun drink to try out. Lambrini drinks are very reasonable in price. This drink will cost you under £10 to make for yourself & your guests, and that includes all ingredients.
I loved trying this out over the weekend, and this may well be our new pre-Christmas-Party tipple.
Seeing as I have still got some of the Cherry Lambrini left, I’d love to try and create the Lover Sunset cocktail. It sounds so YUM.
Be sure to check out their website for other ideas for drinks. Head to your local Aldi, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Home Bargains, Morrisons & more to grab yourself a bottle for home.
Look out for the speciality Mini bottle for your chance to win a Mini Cooper. That would be an amazing Christmas Present.
Let me know if you like to make cocktails at home, and if you try this one out.
