Finding the right skincare can be tough. It’s different to sampling make up. With make up we can instantly see how it looks on us. We can see if it suits us or not. But skincare takes longer to tell. We need to see how it will react with our skin. Will it work the miracles we want it to?
I’ve had these Pixi Skintreats for a while now, and have been incorporating them in to my skincare routine now & then. I have to say that I have been really impressed with them.
You guys know, or might not, that I somehow have landed a spot on the Pixi PR List. This means that often when there’s a new launch, I will have it sent to me. I am beyond grateful for this, as I’m a huge Pixi fan anyways.
Not only is there the added bonus of the products being cruelty free, they’re so well made that all the ones I have come across do exactly what they say they do.
Rose Caviar Essence
These skintreats are one of their latest launches, and each product can be used in a number of ways. Perfect, as there’s more product for your money.
The Rose Caviar Essence is a really interesting product. It is designed as a serum, so press this on to your skin after cleansing and toning. It comes out of its tube in a gel like way, but almost instantly as it touches your skin it turns to water.
I’ve found the best way to apply this is to put your desired amount on to your finger tips, and press on your skin as soon as possible. Initially I will wipe the formula over my face to make sure it reaches everywhere, then I will press it in.
The feeling of this serum on your skin is an instant refreshment. Your skin feels so hydrated, and cool right away. I love using this product in my morning routine. It adds the perfect amount of hydration after sleeping, and the cooling effect is great for waking me up.
Pixi use flower oils in this serum to hydrate and restore the skins brightness. There is also rose extract in there, and these can be massaged in to the skin, which will help refine and tone your complexion.
I would also use this product as a mask. I don’t use it as the type of mask that you rinse off, I use it for extra hydration. This is great for after a long busy weekend, or before bed. Apply it the same way as you would of a morning, but use more product. Really lather it on to the skin and don’t press in too much. Wipe it over your face with your finger tips, leave it to soak in for 5 minutes, then finish by pressing it in.
Rose Flash Balm
The Rose Flash Balm is another dual product. A mask and moisturiser. Anything with Rose in, I usually love. Rose is very kind to skin, and really suits mine. This is a product I got excited about the moment I tried it.
I first used it as a mask. You apply a layer to your face, that is slightly more than what you’d use for a moisturiser. Leave it on for 5 minutes, then wash off with warm water. You will instantly see your skin looking rejuvenated. I was shocked at the transformation of mine.
My skin looked brighter, and healthier, instantly. This is a great product to use 2/3 times a week to give your skin a pick me up. I have probably been using it once a week as a mask, and then 2/3 times a week as a moisturiser.
As a moisturiser it is good. It’s a mixture of a moisturiser and primer, so you can mix it with another moisturiser if you want to. Simply wipe it across your face with your fingertips, don’t rub it in too much. It creates a really great base for make up, as my foundation stays put throughout the day when I wear this.
As a stand alone moisturising product, I probably wouldn’t use it all the time and only that. Although it works wonders as a mask and primer, it doesn’t have SPF in it. It’s my personal preference that on those days when I’m having a no make-up day, I like to use a moisturiser that contains SPF.
Pixi Beauty do actually do a stand alone moisturiser that sounds wonderful. It’s called H20 Skindrink, which instantly makes me want it for my dehydrated skin. They also have an SPF30 Sun Mist spray. Pixi say to apply this 30 minutes before heading out in the sun, and you can also apply it over make up. This product has me super interested.
Like I said before, I love products that have Rose in them. Rose is very calming to skin, and can help fight redness, and also soothes acne flareups. These 2 products in particular, the Caviar Essence & Flash Balm are suitable for all skin types. So I feel confident in recommending them to all you guys.
I’d love to know if you’ve used anything like these before, or would be intrigued to do so. You can shop Pixi online, in most M&S stores, and if you’re Liverpool based, they sell it in the Beauty Bazaar.
Let me know if you have any questions. And if you’ve tried these products, as always let me know below.
