Dior Dream Duo
As many of you already know, I am a Dior lover. More than a Dior lover in fact, a Dior addict. I absolutely love this brand.
I have had many a Dior product over the years. Varying from lipsticks, perfumes, to skincare. However, my ride of die Dior product, is a foundation.
I remember talking to my friends a while ago saying how hard it is to find your forever foundation. Well, after trying many, still owning many and loving all of them, I still have a favourite.
Diorskin Forever Foundation
I first tried Dior Foreverskin Foundation about 4 years ago. I have replaced every bottle each time I’ve finished it. It is my go-to foundation when I’m heading out-out, or to a special event. Plus, even if I just want my make up to look really good, I reach for this.
This foundation is a medium coverage, and creates a flawless look. I love how it blurs out my pores, and covers any blemishes really well.
Depending on what you prep your skin with, or what you finish your look with, you can create a dewy or matte finish. As my skin leans more on the dry/dehydrated side, I like to create dewy/highlighted looks.
This foundation layers well with a serum, moisturiser, and primer. I like this, as some foundations I have only work with a light moisturiser and a little primer. All trial and (major) error to find out.
I wore my Dior foundation to London around a month ago. I wanted my make up to stay in place all day, without oxidising, creasing, and going to shiny. Thankfully it did just that.
I was attending a pretty exciting event, the Lulu Guinness Autumn/Winter presentation, so obviously I wanted to look my best. When I look back at my pictures, I am so pleased with the effect of the foundation.
After sweating on the train, and in the event. Then heading out to cold air, and city pollution, it held up well for around 15 hours.
Diorskin Forever Primer
However, behind every good foundation is an excellent primer. Ok, not all the time, but in this instance it’s true.
I hadn’t owned the Dior Primer before, and after trying it and hearing how incredible it was, I caved. I’m so glad I did as I love it.
The primer is silicone free, a cream like consistency, and creates an airbrushed look.
When you apply this over your moisturiser, you’ll see how your complexion becomes even. It blurs out my pores, and creates a smooth base.
If you’re looking for a little more coverage on a no make up day, then this primer is brilliant for that. Over your serum and moisturiser, it just adds an extra protection layer. It slightly mattifies down any shine that is still lingering from your skincare products.
Not that shine isn’t great, but depending on how much moisture your skin is needing, I sometimes need to slap it on, and without the primer, I couldn’t do that in a rush.
I must say as well that this primer really does feel like silk on your skin. It is so soft, and your foundation will glide on over it.
Dream Dior Duo
Clearly Dior create all their products to compliment one another, but these two really do work wonders together.
The foundation glides on, and builds really well over the primer. It doesn’t slide around over your face. Plus, throughout the day you’re not left with patches where the cover has lifted.
These are my new dream team, I never want to be without on or the other.
It’s good to point out too that both of these products work well with other brands too. I love using the primer under my new Kiko foundation. Plus the foundation works great over my Pixi primers too.
I’d love to know if you’re a fellow Dior lover, and have ever tried either of these products.
